It is no secret, the Jose Lake Store & Resort has experienced some pretty sad “seasons” to say the very least. Having had so many great memories of it and the lake in general, I was beyond excited when the opportunity presented itself for my partners, my husband and me to purchase the place so we could bring it back to life.
My personal goal was for the Store and Resort to be a fun, safe place for people to gather and make awesome memories of their own. I wanted it to be a place where people knew if they needed something, they could just ask. To provide relaxing stays where one could experience the true “up north” hospitality from people who cared. Hoping you agree, I think it is safe to say that we have accomplished all of those goals and this season has been a great one!
However, as all seasons do, it is time for change. Don’t get me wrong, JLSR is still going to continue to flourish, but it will do so without the presence of myself and my husband. You see we have been blessed with a new purpose in life, parenthood! Jerrod and I are expecting our first child in March and with all of the other responsibilities on our plates we made the decision to give up our shares of ownership to our partners. (So no worries for you as the Willis’ and Cheryl are not going anywhere!) It was a tough decision to make, but it is necessary for us.
As I close, I would like to extend a HUGE thank you to our family and friends who have helped and supported our vision over the last year. Without all of you, it would not have been possible to accomplish all that we have. I would also like to thank the association, the community, and especially our customers! Whether you came to the store to pick up a gallon of milk, attend one of our events, or you wanted to know why the power was out and if we knew when it would be back on; it has been my sincere pleasure to serve and get to know you all.
We'll still have our place on the lake so if you need something; you know where to find us.
